There was a sense of organization to rally the needs and concerns of bikers and to be able to admit people into some form of structure. Biker reps volunteered to formalize what that would look like. Originally there was the Outriders Association of Kenya, TSA, Cruising Kings, Coast Riders Association, Lakeside Riders and Superhero Bikers Club among the few organized biker groups.
The pioneers of Motorcycle Kenya were:
Shafiq, James Quest, Chwa and Nick Korir. Later the team was joined by; Njeri Mwangi, Nepurko, Danzo, Taylor Martin, Edwin (Ribbz), Susan Muthii and Dr. D Karuri (Blade Doc). Motorcycle Kenya was actually formally registered as an umbrella body for bikers as a Community Based entity (CBO) in 2016. The volunteer committee was then formalized and was to serve for a term of 3 yrs. As a formally registered entity, the committee went ahead and structured itself around the 4 pillars known as Legislation, Association, Safety and Training(L.A.S.T).
